Sunrise Flower Power Fund merino nylon four ply yarn
Sunrise Flower Power Fund merino nylon four ply yarn
The Flower Power Fund is a fundraising campaign supporting Marie Curie UK, a wonderful charity which supports people living with a terminal illness. The brainchild of @Sherlock_knits, a year long campaign of yarny loveliness brings a new colourway each month under the theme of '50 laps around the sun'. July is my turn. These are skeins of Sunrise colourway Merino Nylon yarn, my Acorn base. All my bases are named after parts of plants and trees.
It is 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, Four ply 100g Skeins Approx. 425m This is a very soft and versatile workhorse yarn. The nylon content makes it strong so it can be used for a huge range of items; socks, shawls, sweaters, hats and gloves. It has been hand dyed by me in my studio with lac and indigo to give the colours of a sunrise, pink, purple and shades of blue. It is inspired by the sunrise photograph taken in St Ives in Cornwall on holiday a few years ago. For every skein sold £3 will be donated to Marie Curie UK via the Flower Power Fund.
I have tried to capture the colour of the yarn as accurately as possible. Please bear in mind that monitors vary and colours can be perceived differently. Due to the nature of hand dyeing, the colours in each skein may be slightly different and no two skeins will be identical. As with any hand dyed wool, if using more than one skein then alternating skeins on every couple of rows will help to balance any slight differences. |
